Life is Short

When The Cowboy received the news that TTI was closing down for good, he was heartbroken. This was the program that had saved his life from being imprisoned, and possibly killed way back in the west.  He owed his life to the firm, but now it was all going away.
The Cowboy thought for a long, long time. He just sat in his office staring at his coffee mug. Eventually he decided to go back to where he came from. Back west. He gathered up his meager belongings, said goodbye to his new friends, wished them luck, and left.
When he was spat back out the Cowboy felt a surge of euphoria and deja-vu. He was in his hometown. It was deserted, of course, because everyone had died of Cholera. He sighed, and his cougar lay down and started to take a nap. The cowboy kicked it and said "Were not done yet my old friend. just a few more stops."
The next stop was the jail where he was held. He could see it's lights from miles away. When he got there he asked to talk to a specific guard (the same one who had abused him). He told the warden that he had a job offer.
When he got into a room alone with the guard he drew a Colt 45. and shot him six times. The Cowboy then left him a TTI card and left before anyone knew about it.
His next stop was the town bank. He got there in just over an hour and walked inside with confidence. He drew his revolvers and robbed it at gunpoint, taking over four hundred dollars.
On his way out he was shot by a guard he hadn't seen. The force of the bullet knocked him off his feet. He landed heavily on his back. He dropped his guns and the money. As he crawled away he called for his cougar.
The cougar raced past The Cowboy and charged his attacker, thinking of revenge.
     "NOOO!" screamed the Cowboy.
The cougar was shot four times, dying instantly. The Cowboy rose with a strength that only comes with rage. With a demonic growl he raced towards the shooter, ignoring the bullets as they tore flesh and ripped bone. Soon he had his hands at the mans throat, squeezing the life out of him. The man with the gun ran out of bullets and dropped the gun. He struggled for a moment, and then died.
The Cowboy stepped back, and smiled. All those good doings had him out of practice he thought. He then looked down and saw the eight bullet holes in him. He shuddered and fell to the floor, dying before he hit the ground.

Madrid, Spain

After his vacation The Cowboy returned to TTI in good spirits. He and his cougar were healthy and fit and ready for action. The Cowboy chose Madrid, Spain for the location of his next mission. When there, he would observe the architecture and help make history better if he was needed to.
After he was spat out in the outskirts of Madrid. The Cowboy hid his cougar and stole some common clothes. Before he even entered the city he could hear the sounds of construction. Hammers hitting nails, blocks being dropped into place and workers yelling at each other. The air smelled like plaster and iron.
The Cowboy strolled through the middle of town, watching as churches, domes, citadels and arches were put up all around him. He marveled at the ingenuity of the architects. Their designs were amazing.
He discretely snapped pictures of them with his Nikon. They are also displayed here.
The Cowboy was walking down a side street when he saw two huge men harassing a woman. The Cowboy sighed. He had hoped that he wouldn't run into anything like this. He had hoped that there wasn't going to be any violence on this trip. Too bad, he thought as he approached the group.
"Hey, let her go and mess with someone your own size." said The Cowboy.
The men looked at each other, dropped the girl and charged The Cowboy. The Cowboy jumped and lashed out with both feet, hitting the men both in the face. They grunted and fell to the ground in a heap. The Cowboy got up and looked for the woman. She was already gone.
The Cowboy made his way back to his cougar, pleased with his trip. He had gotten to see the wonderful architecture of Madrid Spain, and he even got to kick some butt along the way. As he sped back to the present he smiled. He liked these new rules.

Reflection

     Present Day, TTI Headquarters
"We need to figure out how they knew who he was. He came back in time, and unless another time traveler from another firm told them about him, there is no way they could have known." said General McCormick Lander, leader of the Warfare Prevention Force, which uses time travelers to change history to avert atrocities.  "I think we should ask around, make some bribes and poke around at this and come back in a few days." said Signor Volpe, leader of TTI. "Good idea Volpe." agreed the officiate.
     Three days later...
"So, what have ya' got?" asked the General, sipping a cup of coffee. Signor Volpe hands him a piece of paper, with a signed statement from TTA (time traveling advancements). It admitted to framing The Cowboy, and telling the Medici to arrest and torture him. It also said that they would right the situation.
"Well then. That seems taken care of. Give him some vacation time when he gets back, and a raise." said the General nonchalantly. "I agree. He's done good work." agreed Volpe.
The Cowboy was rescued two days later in critical condition. A few more hours he would have been dead. But, thanks to the new technology of the 21st century, he was saved. He mad his recovery in a few weeks and was granted a vacation. He went to Vegas. The clamor of the party was heard for miles and miles. (his partying will always be a legend as Caesar's).

New Rules

The History Cowboy had just received new guidelines for his time-travel missions, and was reading it over a cup of coffee. His cougar dozed peacefully in the corner, growling occasionally. The Cowboy was exited about the rules. They gave him more freedom, and allowed him do and learn whatever he wanted, as long as he went to the correct city or region.
The Cowboy decided to visit Florence Italy, the starting place of the Rennasiance. He packed his meager travel items and set off, charging on his cougar at top speed to break through time. He was spat out in the outskirts of Florence.
He dismounted his cougar and hid it in an alleyway. He then made his way to the center of town. He was disguised as a Medici family bodyguard, so he could access their buildings and halls. He tired of navigating the streets very soon, so he sagaciously took to the rooftops.
The Cowboy was using free running, an art form he learned from the popular video game Assassins Creed. He cleared the distance between rooftops in single bounds, covering the distance much quicker. Although he was moving fast, it still took The Cowboy a long time to reach the inner parts of the city.
The Cowboy finally reached the center of the city, where he found a Medici bank. He made his way to they entrance, but was stopped by one of the guards. "You are prohibited of entering this building by Cosimo de Medici himself. Leave now." he said. "I work here, you don't understand." replied The Cowboy. The guard struck The Cowboy in the face with a club, knocking im out.
                                                                         to be continued...
