M7 Islam Or Die

The Cowboy had been in medieval Mali for three years, building a new life for the time being. A vacation of sorts. (Time travelers can take as many days off as they want, because they could just go back in time to do anything that they missed.) He was working as an architect, building grand sculptures and statues for the king.
One day, when The Cowboy was working on a statue of one of the kings children, three armed men barged into the room. They carried spears, and wore full armor.
"Bamaka! Come with us, we need to speak, privately..." he said the last word with a hint of pleasure.
"Alright, lets go. May i ask what this is all about?" replied the cowboy.
     "No."
The Cowboy was taken to a dark dank room and strapped to a chair. He was beaten unconscious. When he came to, he reacted immediately. Slamming his feet on the floor, he knocked the chair loose, spun around and smacked the closest guard in the head with it. He groaned and fell to the floor. The Cowboy was hit in the head and knocked out once again.
When he came to a second time, the king stood in front of him.
"The reason we wanted to speak with you is the fact that you aren't including Islam in any of your artwork. Islam dominates our way of life. We would like it if you began immediately. If you don't, the consequences will be, unfortunate."
The Cowboy slaved away for the next three months, adding Islamic details to his art. Instead of carving animals, he carved patterns and shapes. He didn't make statues of anyone anymore, he would make them a slate with their favorite patterns. There were no unfortunate consequences.
